YUKI-SIS では2025年10月4日（土）－18日（土）柳田有希子個展「光を掬う」を開催致します。

柳田有希子は1981年生まれ。2005年多摩美術大学大学院美術研究科彫刻専攻修了。個展を中心に、国内外のアートフェア出品の他、最近はホテル虎ノ門ヒルズ、The Westin Tokyo,三井ガーデンホテルなど、著名なホテルからの引き合いも多く、静かな画面ながら独特の存在感を持つ彼女の作風は、公共の場でも見ることができるようになってきました。

柳田有希子の作品は、チタンという金属に、酸の一種を塗布しながら電流を流し、化学変化の特性を生かして色を引き出すという、とても個性的な技法で制作されています。その結果チタンの表面に作られた酸化膜は、わたしたちの眼を通して色として見えてきます。

YUKI-SIS is pleased to announce Yukiko Yanagida's solo exhibition "Cradling Light” " from October 4 (Sat) to 18 (Sat), 2025.

Yukiko Yanagida was born in 1981. Completed a master's course of Sculpture course from Tama Art University, Tokyo, JAPAN. In addition to holding solo exhibitions and participating in art fairs both in Japan and abroad, she has recently received many commissions from renowned hotels such as Hotel Toranomon Hills, The Westin Tokyo, and Mitsui Garden Hotels. Her style, which maintains a quiet surface yet possesses a distinctive presence, is now increasingly being showcased in public spaces.

Yukiko Yanagida's works are created using a very unique technique in which she applies an electric current to the metal titanium while coating it with a type of acid, and draws out the colors by taking advantage of its chemical transformation characteristics. The resulting oxide film on the surface of the titanium is visible as color through our eyes.

チタンという金属は、ゴルフのヘッド、オートバイのマフラー、メガネのフレーム、飛行機、骨折時のチタンのプレートやボルトなど、最近はいろんなものに使われていますが、世界的に活躍する建築家のフランク・ゲイリーが、グッゲンハイム美術館（ビルバオ）の外壁に建築素材として使っていることでも有名です。チタンという金属は経年劣化がなく、軽くて丈夫な素材で、高級感のある金属の一種ともいえます。

柳田の作り出す作品は、自然光や照明の光、そして観る角度などで色の変化を楽しめる作品です。

Titanium is used in a variety of products these days, including golf club heads, motorcycle mufflers, eyeglass frames, airplanes, titanium plates and bolts for broken bones, etc. It is also famous for being used by the world-renowned architect Frank Gary as a building material for the exterior walls of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. 今回の展覧会タイトルは「光を掬う」。

「まだ集まりきらない光を掬いあげる過程を表現したい」

チタンに電流を流すことで発色する色は限られていますが、柳田のここ最近の作品の表現の幅はかなり広がりました。特に光を意識し、その光の集合体が印象派のような画風にも見え、抽象的な作風ながら私たちの記憶の中の風景や現象とリンクします。

柳田が描く作品の世界は、一瞬で変わってしまう現象や気持ち、またあいまいな記憶、夢などがモチーフとなっています。彼女の静かな抽象作品を眺めていると、作品と観るものに残るかすかな記憶とが繋がり、独特な感覚を味わうことができると思います。

The title of this exhibition is “Cradling Light”.

“I want to express the process of cradling up light that has not yet fully gathered..”

Although the colors produced by applying an electric current to titanium are limited, Yanagida’s recent works have greatly expanded in expressive range. With the particular focus on light, these clusters of light can appear almost impressionistic, and while abstract in style, they resonate with landscapes and phenomena embedded in our memories.

The world of Yanagida's work is based on phenomena and feelings that can change in an instant, as well as vague memories and dreams. Viewing her quiet abstract works, viewers can experience a unique sensation of connection between the work and the faint memories that linger in the viewer's mind

【Artist Note】

普段何気なく過ごしている時間というものは、過ぎてしまえばもう手に入らないものですが、
記憶として私たちの中に残っています。

それらは、例えば美しい景色や突然現れては消える靄、⽔流や虹など、⾃然界におけるものであったり、2度と同じ姿をとどめる事のない一瞬だったりします。

私はその記憶を頼りに、もう手に入れることができないものを作品に留めようと思い、制作をしています。

Artist Note

The time we spend casually in our daily lives is gone, but it remains in us as a memory,
However, they remain in our minds as memories.

They may be beautiful landscapes, a mist that suddenly appears and disappears, a water stream or a rainbow in nature, or a moment that will never be the same again.

I work with these memories, trying to capture in my work what is no longer available.
