YUKI-SIS では、2020年2月1日（土）－14日（土）柳田有希子個展”Anywhere but here” を開催いたします。

柳田有希子は1981年生まれ。2005年多摩美術大学大学院美術研究科彫刻専攻修了。

柳田有希子の作品は、チタンという金属に、酸の一種を塗布しながら電流を流して、化学変化により色を引き出す、というとても個性的な技法で制作されています。理科室にあった、黒と赤の管がついていて、電流を流すと豆電球がつく機械を思い出していただけたらよいと思います。表面には顔料や絵の具はまったく塗っておらず、色の膜を作りながら作品に仕上げています。

チタンという金属は、ゴルフのヘッド、オートバイのマフラー、メガネのフレーム、飛行機、骨折時にチタンのプレートやボルトを体内に埋めるなど、最近はいろんなものに使われていますが、世界的に活躍する建築家のフランク・ゲイリーが、グッゲンハイム美術館（ビルバオ）の外壁に 建築素材として使っていることでも有名です。

チタンは鉄や銅などと異なり、経年劣化がなく、軽くて丈夫ない素材でとても扱いやすく、高級感のある金属の一種ともいえます。自然光や照明の光、そして観る角度などで色の変化も楽しめる作品です。

柳田が描く作品の世界は、一瞬で変わってしまう現象や気持ち、またあいまいな記憶などがモチーフとなっています。彼女の静かな抽象作品を眺めていると、観るものの記憶と繋がり、独自の感覚を味わうことができると思います。それは、聴覚、嗅覚から想い起こされる感覚にも似ています。

チタンの金属の上に広がる、より深い色の広がりを味わっていただけたら幸いです。

Yukiko YANAGIDA was born in 1981.

Completed a master's course of Sculpture course from Tama Art University, Tokyo, JAPAN

Yukiko Yanagida charges electric current on titanium and uses her original technique which involves drawing out colors according to chemical change by means of heat.

The amount of variation in the colors that metal itself is decided by the voltage, and for the artist to have the ability lets her build up a gradation of beautiful colors. A natural phenomenon that disappears in an instant, or the after image of memories in people's minds and so on, people who see her abstract work conjure up all kinds of memories from it, and relate themselves to her pieces and understand. Furthermore, you can enjoy the changes of color in coordination with natural light or illumination, also our brain make colors supplementary when looking at her work.

【Artist Note】

普段何気なく過ごしている時間というものは、過ぎてしまえばもう手に入らないものですが、

記憶として私たちの中に残っています。

それらは、例えば美しい景色や突然現れては消える靄、⽔流や虹など、⾃然界におけるものであったり、2度と同じ姿をとどめる事のない一瞬だったりします。

私はその記憶を頼りに、もう手に入れることができないものを作品に留めようと思い、制作をしています。

The time that we spend unintentionally, can not remain if it past, but we remember something from it in our mind.

For instance, they might be beautiful landscape, laying haze what appears and disappears like bubbles suddenly, water flow, and rainbow and so on in nature. It can also be said that it is just a moment that only exists, can never to keep the same state.

I work to keep such unobtainable sight in mind relying on my memory.
